Preface
Tuesday, Rae went in for a regular clinic visit @ 11:30. They took her weight and realized she had gained 20lbs since her last visit (2 weeks). Her doctor admitted her to keep an eye on her for a few days. Some blood work was done. Turns out her liver count was up and platelets were down, as well as her blood pressure was high. She had HELLP syndrome. (Not Misspelled) The doctor had Rae tell me to come up asap and I would be staying. They gave her steroids to help develop the baby's lungs. If Rae's blood platelets dropped at all they would take the baby. Two days later, how long the baby had to be on steroids, Rae went into surgery. She did really good. I got to watch nearly the whole thing, as much as i could stomach anyways. Baby Truman was moved into NICU immediately after being cut from his mom. About an hour later I got to go into the NICU and got to take pictures and some video. He opened his eyes, looked around and glanced up at me. Normally when people say their babies are cute I think to myself, they pretty much all look alike, but when they are your own it makes all the difference in the world.
