Daddy thinks Mommy should slow down!

We had so much fun at Brandon and Kalie's wedding a few weeks ago, she was such a beautiful bride. Our Rice family is so blessed to have her join us. She is so great I just love her!! We also were so excited to find out that Brandon and Kalie are having a girl... Im almost certain our babies are determined to be days apart if not born the same day, they will be the cutest little cousins we are also super excited that this will make 2 boys and 2 girls on Rice side for grandkids. Hopefully Grandma and Grandpa are ready for that! Ruby is also getting really excited for the baby to come she sometimes points to her own belly and says baby, and seems to love to lay her head on my belly and occasionally kisses it... She is the best I love getting to spend time with her while her mommy works even if she is on the go all the time and often wears me out!!
Ok so you're probably wondering about the title of this post... Well if you know Logan and me at all you will know that Logan thinks we can just get everything that we need for this little boy about a month before he comes and then there is me who HATES to wait until the last minute wants to buy everything today!! Haha maybe we will both wear off on each other. But as of know he has some clothes, a highchair and a car seat oops! So daddy did tell me I needed to slow down a little and maybe he right but I'm finally feeling pregnant and absolutely loving it. did I forget to mention that I have been feeling him kick the last week and its been great Logan got to feel too I was so excited I didn't think it would be hard enough this soon for Log too feel but he did and I think I may have been have been more excited for Logan to feel than for me haha that sound so silly! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is enjoying the holidays !!!

Boy or Girl?

We FINALLY reached the 18 week mark this week and decide we should make an appointment to find out the Gender of this wonderful little baby growing inside of me. Ashley, Joey and Abby are here visiting during week 19 and also Brandon and Kalie are getting married on Friday so week 19 was out of the picture and week 20 is the week of Thanksgiving so that was not going to work.... So Week 18 was the winner and we had an appointment for Friday 11/11/11 should be lucky right?  Friday could not come quick enough and we were so excited when it did! We got to the Doctors office just to find out they were about 20 minutes behind schedule which actually meant an hour! Finally we got back into the ultrasound room and the tech starts checking out the baby and everything looks great. Of course being a child of Logan and Me this baby is a TURD will not hold still is all over the place but is super healthy YEAH just what we wanted! She goes through all the body parts: Legs, brain, diaphragm, spine, hands and says "So do you have a feeling as to what gender this baby is?" I say well we think boy but that may just be wishful thinking!"  She says "ok" and continues with the heart beat. In all of this Logan is almost completely silent this whole time then she say "Ohh and look at that!" As she types BOY on the screen. All the sudden Logan says "Are you shitting me?"  because he is so excited. We are so happy to be having a little Rice boy and can not wait until he comes!!

17 weeks!

It's been a while since my last Post so I will try to catch up! We are now finishing up week 17!! Almost half way there and still not showing to much.... I keep telling myself that I will be happy later that I'm not very big haha I guess we will see. Over the last few weeks we have had a lot go on between all the lows which means "Crazy Rae" comes over and ending up spending a few days in the hospital due to the lows I feel like my life has been put on hold. It makes me nervous to drive or go anywhere alone. That might seem a bit dramatic to some of you but I just dont want to put me or the baby in a dangerous situation. We are getting really anxious

Mid-Wifes, Diabetes and Pregnancy

So for any of you who read the title and were thinking "What Rae is seeing a Mid-Wife?" I assure you that I am definitely not. Because I am a diabetic my pregnancy is automatically considered high risk so my original OBGYN referred me to the University of Utah where they have high risk specialist so that in the future if my pregnancy does have high risk complications then I am already seeing a Dr that can take care of it.  I have really liked the University until recently that is. They have decided that they want my levels to be between 60 and 120 when I wake up and 90-120 the rest of the day ... I was really happy to try to do that. So I went in for my appointment last week  and they felt my levels were either too high or too low.... so they messed with my pump settings and sent me home.... later that day my level dropped so low that I became incoherent and was lets say delusional something that some of you may have seen me do when my levels are too high. This scared me quite a bit because I have never had a reaction to lows like this before I don't even remember or know time has passed. This continued to happen 3 or 4 more times over the week so when I went back to the Dr office the mid wife that I had to see because my Dr was not in that day seemed to be so much happier with my levels. When I explained to her that I was not happy because of the reaction I have been having and that I'm too low to often she was just baffled and didn't really know what to do she then tells me "I'm going to call one of the Doctors and ask him because I'm not sure if I should up your insulin from 1.75 to 1.8 or 1.85 because they are too low" and then she ran off leaving me to think "OH MY GOSH they have an idiot in here trying to adjust my insulin" I'm thinking does she seriously have some kind of medical degree and not know that if she gives me more insulin that its going to make my levels go even lower not higher? I was definitely freaking out Then she comes in and seriously has no clue what she is talking about when it comes to diabetes. So I came home with my pump adjusted once again and so far I have only had one scary low where I don't know whats going on but I guess its only been two days. Needless to say since I didn't even tell you all the idiotic things that the mid wife did I will now be refusing to see a mid wife EVER again and will always advise my friends and family to go with a DR instead of a mid wife!
